On May 21, Carolina Village hosted its annual health fair. The event featured 26 local companies that specialize in senior health and wellbeing. These partners provided free health screenings, hands-on educational information, and even a few door prizes to approximately 115 resident attendees.
AdventHealth, which has a clinic on the Carolina Village campus, sponsored the event and Village departments, including Independent Living Support, collaboratively organized it.
“The goal of the Health Fair was to promote healthy living and provide health options to our residents and our staff,” said Jon Renegar, Director of Operations at Carolina Village. “This event was the culmination of our ongoing efforts to foster the 8 dimensions of wellness here at the Village.”
The 8 dimensions of wellness include:
- Emotional
- Environmental
- Intellectual
- Nutritional
- Physical
- Social
- Spiritual
- Vocational
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of opportunities to experience all 8 dimensions however they wish, including participating in the health fair.
“We would like to thank all of the vendors who participated, giving their support, their time, and invaluable information,” said Renegar. “It’s wonderful having such great community partners.”
